Don't Let Someone Else Get Your Front Row Seat

Continued education is one of the ways to not only create but maintain success especially with the economic conditions of today.  So the attendance of seminars and courses is on the rise as people strive to make profitable changes in their lives in the wake of layoffs and financial difficulties.  But haw can you be even more successful while utilizing this avenue of advancement.

The first thing you need to do is show up.  Many people go to a seminar but they themselves do not really show up.  They have their cell phones on and take calls during sessions and chat in the hall ways instead of focusing on the content of the event.  Is this how you show in other parts of your life as well? In your employment, your relationship, with your family.   Not 100% present.

The second thing that you need to make a priority is to be on time if not early.  It is true that people do not want to be in the front row or anywhere near the front.  So how is that working in your life? Do you think there may be a corilation to why you are not near the front of the pack or at the top of the ladder in your success.  Yes, I know there are only so many places available  at the front but are you going to give up your spot to someone else because you do not make it a priority to be early.  If you can not be early at least be on time. 

Take a look at how you manage your life and your time and I will bet that you will see that what you do and blow off as unimportant are the very things that are keeping you from your success. And even making a few small adjustments can mean enormous progress on your road to wealth and success.  Don't let someone else take your front row seat.

Learning How To Say No Eliminates Distractions That Can Hinder Your Success

In the course of a busy day, a person can find themselves distracted by various things that can pop up.  Most of the time they are little things that are even sometimes annoying.  The problem seems to arise that when this happens most of us tend to deal with the distraction which breaks a train of thought or course of action that is necessary to complete a task much more important. 

Saying no to these distractions can be even more difficult since it may come from a family member, if you work at home or coworker, should you still have a job you leave home for.  But on the other hand you can probably account for several occassions when someone said "No" to you for one reason or another.  And you dealt with it.  Well guess what....they will deal with it too when you learn how to hold on your own priorities.  When you do not people loose respect for your time and tend to take advantage.

How do I know this...I have a room renter from out of this country that would ask for a "lift" or to join them when they went out and would somewhat compensate me for my time and efforts.  This would happen at all hours and would at times disrupt my internet work or my leasure time at home. I found it became more and more frequent till suddenly the compensation was dropped and the expectation remained. After accompanying this person out recently I fund myself footing the bill as well.  This is when I realized that having a big heart can be a determent and not an asset.  I had spent alot of precious time away form my business and my life accomodating someone who lost the appreciation.

Your time is valuable.  Make sure that you honor that value by holding to your priorties and determining if the distraction is hindering or helping you.  I am not saying to be selfish.  But I am saying to evaluate before you change directions in the middle of a stream.  If you are at a point where you can pause, this is great but if not....learn how to say "No".

Time Management For The Newbie Entrepreneur

It seems, at times, that I run out of day before I run out of things that need to be done. Especially since I work at home now as an entrepreneur. i had to learn things that made how I planned my day more effective and efficient.

I have found some simple changes I made that helped to utilize my time more efficiently. You may want to implement a few of theses for yourself. When you go to bed at night, set the clock for a little earlier.  It is best to spend some quiet time visualizing what you want your day to be like and what you want to accomplish.  Remember that how you start you day will determine how the rest of your day will go.  You may want to read or listen to something that inspires you and helps you to focus.  You may do a little exercise to get the body ready for the action of the day.  You may even just sit quietly and have a cup or two of coffee or tea to prepare yourself for the day ahead. 

The important thing to understand  is to take appropriate time to get your day started.  By doing this you will also be helping yourself to grow.  It also helps you to prioritize the things in your day that need to be done and what can actually wait.  When the important things get done it then leaves time for those items less important.

Habits Can Be Hazarous To Your Wealth

As you go through life you develop habits and you become that accumulation of those habits. These habits can include how you brush your teeth, how you sit or stand up from a chair, how you do your laundry and so on. Habits are a necessary part of our everyday lives. They free your mind up during your day so that you can concentrate on areas of your living that need more attention. They are either good habits or not so good habits.

Habits that are good to be aware of and keep are similar to driving your vehicle. While you are going down the street you are not thinking about the actual act of driving because it is a habit. You are concentrating on the safety around you and where you are going as well as how you will get there. Habits like these are considered good habits.

Unfortunately, there are many habits that can deter you from being successful. Procrastination is probably one habit that may people have and sometimes refuse to acknowledge. But procrastination is probably what is keeping you from succeeding. So in the grand scheme of things, changing even a few habits could change your life and boost you to a higher level of success.

Managing Your Time Becomes More Critcal As You Become More Successful

Successful does not happen overnight and a common remark made as people succeed is that instead of having more time they tend to run out of hours in their day.  They make lists and find that even the items on the  lists are not getting done and frustration sets in.  There are a few things that you can to to help you throught this situtation.

Developing good habits is a place that usually needs assistance.  Success breeds success by learning successful habits.  Luck just doesn't exist. I believe in blessing not luck.  Find your strengths and do not focus on your weeknesses.  Nobody can take your success away so don't call it luck.

Learn to delegate.  The more successful you become the more you need to delgate some of the things that can and should be done by others.  This involves a fair amount of trust as well.  But more success comes when you learn to delegate.  This frees you to do wht is needed on the frontside while the technical tasks are taken care of on the back side.  You can then grow your business instead of stagnate in the pools of unfinished projects.

When you learn to do these two things you will see an upsurge of success in you business and your life.  You can not do it all alone and besides who wants to?  Isn't a part of success sharing with others?

The Average Person Is Efficient But Not Effective

Nowadays it is a misconception that if you feel that you are being effecient that you are being effective as well.  This simply is not true.  When you are being efficient, you are performing a certain or specific task whether it is very important or not.  Being effective is doing things that are getting you closer to the goals you set for yourself.  Here is where the rubber may meet the road on your journey to success and the lifestyle you desire to live. 

Just because you are doing something well does not mean that it is important.  Something that requires a bunch of time does not make it any more important either.  Those who think that checking email twenty times a day and sets up an amazing system of folders to sort out the various ton of email are not necessarily being effective in reaching their goals.  That just means that they keep busy doing things that can be unproductive and wasting time avoiding what really needs to be done to advance them to their goals.  Keeping busy does not mean that you are being productive and effective. 

if you feel overwhelmed then you are often unproductive an that is almost as ineffective as doing nothing.  When you focus on what is important and ignore or outsource the rest you become selective.  this allows you to do less and become more productive in what you are doing.  When you find that you do not have time, it is usually a sign that you do not have priorities.
