It is very surprising that many individuals believe that just because they are in a supervisor position that they are a good leader. Unfortunately this is not the case more often than not. There is a huge difference between being a good or excellent leader and supervising a group of people and not all supervisors possess the qualities of a good leader.
A good leader is considerate. He or she realizes that without the others on the team there is no need for a leader
A good leader is also a good follower. Not all leadership is at the front of the line.
A good leader is fair to the circumstance and the individuals involved.
A good leader know how to give, take and evaluate feedback.
A good leader can make adjustments. He or she is adaptable and does not claim to know it all.
A good leader communicates in a manner that is understood by others and redirects when necessary when communication is hindered.
A good leader know when and when not to delegate.
The way in which a good leader implements these qualities comes with a certain amount of discipline. This is something that many supervisors do not possess. They not only do not display the qualities but they themselves do not own the discipline necessary to lead others to victory so they become know as sheep herders. Do you know which you are.....Just a supervisor calling the shots or an excellent leader?

Regular readers of Everyday Sociology know that I’m the new kid on the block. And I must say I’m pretty surprised to find myself in this position. It’s not that I don’t love sociology (which I do) and it’s not that I don’t enjoy writing about it (which I also do) it’s that I could never figure out how people had the time to read blogs, much less write them. I have enough trouble juggling my job-related tasks (preparing for classes, grading papers, attending committee meetings, working on my research) with my personal tasks (walking the dog, preparing meals, cleaning the house, exercising, following current events). And I know I’m not alone.

This last year we demonstrated that we can keep 21 trees watered and in good health, even during a horrible drought. That has won us credibility with TreeFolks, and we think they will give us trees despite no fixed irrigation. The thing that will make or break the project is WATER. The number of trees we can plant is directly related to our watering plan, which will consist of volunteer watering and paying area students to water.

A constant conversation I have with some, by no means all, of my European colleagues is to argue to them: don’t apply rules to the Government of Israel that you would never dream of applying to your own country. In any of our nations, if there were people firing rockets, committing acts of terrorism and living next door to us, our public opinion would go crazy. And any political leader who took the line that we shouldn’t get too excited about it, wouldn’t last long as a political leader. This is a democracy.

I read an interesting theory recently linking the decline in teacher quality (and in numbers of nursing students) over the past decades to the increasing acceptance of women in management roles in other professions. As the theory goes - a generation ago, there simply weren't as many career options available to even the highest achieving women, so the overall pool of candidate teachers and nurses was much stronger. Now many brilliant women who might have been excellent teachers or nurses are instead becoming physicians, CEOs, or politicians.

Sometimes we dream of "achievable" visions - ones that are possible if we just turn the crank. Break it into bite size pieces, and work away. Sure, sometimes a bite size piece is a bit too big or slow, but we still make progress.
And, sometimes it helps to long for a hopeless cause. One that is basically impossible - we could never learn all teh skill sets, we are unlikely to get all the talent in the same place at the same time, the cash flow just does not work. Having that unattainable vision allows you to say "Well, X will never happen, but I can do Y, so I'll do Y." And keep plodding forward.

One understands that humen's life seems to be not very cheap, however some people need money for different things and not every man earns enough money. Therefore to receive quick home loans and just bank loan would be a right solution.
