Along the course of life and endeavors, there are often times when we hit a bump in the road that could throw us off course. Many will call them mistakes and ponder over them in more than one way. The most common occurance is that we acknowledge these bumps as mistakes and beat ourselves up over them. This will not only slow down, if not stop the process of growth but can side track off your road to success.
To avoid this from happening, a person can realize that a mistake is only that when you acknowldge it as such. Another way to look at a decision that was not quite right or an action that did not heed the results that were expected is to consider these as learning experiences. Opportunities to grow and look at situations and circumstances in a different way. This is one of the most important milestones in leadership.
When you ask what worked and see the positive part of a process or project you have the opportunity to Keep that which was good. When you continue on and ask what did not work, you have the chance to objectively analyze what needed attention and changing. The best part is to then ask what or how the process or project can be done differently to ensure success the next time around.
None of us will make the right decisions all the time. Nor do we always do the right thing continualy. But we all have the opportunity to correct and continue. Repair that which needs to be repaired and begin again and again if necessary. So don't beat yourself up over mistake you may have made. That is a waste of time. Pick up the pieces and keep moving. You only fail when you throw up your arms and quit. Just remember that impossible things are done by people who did not know that they were indeed impossible. This is the way a millionaire mind works. This type of thinking builds confidence and changes attitudes and one of them could be yours.
